The English Bulldog was my childhood dream dog. Back in grade school I would make time to visit the neighborhood library in order to view the latest books or magazines depicting images of this loveable creature. The bulldog is of Medium size, sturdy, with wide shoulders, low-slung body, a massive head and short faced. From experience, I can say that the bulldog is a great family pet.

These dogs obtained their name from the mountain range in southwestern Europe where they are used as guardians of the flock. In the United States they are known as Great Pyrenees. In the United Kingdom, they are called the Pyrenean Mountain Dog. In France, they go by Le Chien de Montagne des Pyrenees or Le Chien des Pyrenees.

When it comes to mascots, I would have to say that the English Bulldog is perhaps used more than any other breed.
